See how tick infestations can be fatal for moose in spring time. In this video DVD lecture, Dr. Vucetich describes not only the facts about these mammals but also the mysteries of their everyday struggle for survival. His highly animated presentation style, amazing photography and insightful commentary will fascinate young and old alike. With over 130 photographs, maps, and illustrations, this lecture with extensive photo documentation is a rich visual experience and leads to a deeper appreciation for ecological research and biodiversity. The Ice Volcanoes of Lake Superior (currently in post production)
In this video documentary, the little-known phenomenon of Ice Volcanoes is presented in vivid footage. Ice Volcanoes (referred to as limnovolcanoes by geologists) occur primarily in the great lakes and predominantly along the shores of Lake Superior. The documentary covers the complete life cycle of these beautiful, wind-sculpted ice forms, beginning with crystallization in wave droplets through cone formation and the eventual collapse during spring thaw. Rarely seen at peak activity, Solex Media presents 30-foot tall ice volcanoes spraying wave-powered eruptions to 50 feet above lake level. This film is nearing final cut and will also be available for purchase in 2006. Use the form below and we will notify you when it can be ordered.
